Fisayo Ajala is the researcher on the energy, urban governance and civic space sectors at Spaces for Change / S4C. He obtained his first degree in History and International Studies from Ekiti State University and holds a Master’s degree in Peace and Development Studies from the University of Ilorin. He provides research support to the legal and community advocacy desks, especially around the design and implementation of rights-based, development- and poverty-focused interventions based on set goals and milestones.
As the researcher on the civic space sector, Fisayo Ajala was part of Spaces for Change’ research team that traversed the country’s six geopolitical regions, tracking and documenting incidents of closing spaces in Nigeria. A database of closing spaces—www.closingspaces.org—which culminated from that study presents the evidence that the civic space is under attack.
